Alphabelt supports the association Jedes Lachen zählt e.V.

In a world where we often have to deal with challenges, there are rays of hope that bring optimism and joy. One of these is the association “Jedes Lachen zählt e.V.” (Every laugh counts), which is committed to the education and well-being of children in Kenya. As a company that is aware of its social responsibility, Alphabelt is pleased to be able to contribute a small part to this important initiative. In this blog post, we would like to introduce you to the project in more detail and explain why it is important to us to support it.

A project that is close to our hearts

For us, access to education has become something we take for granted, but it is a valuable good that is unfortunately difficult to access in many parts of the world. Alphabelt has therefore decided to support the association “Jedes Lachen zählt e.V.” with a donation. In addition, the family of company owner Dirk Hammer has taken on a school sponsorship for a child. This sponsorship includes not only the payment of school fees, but also the provision of clothing and school materials. We are convinced that education is the key to a better future and would therefore like to do our bit to give children in Kenya the chance to go to school and realize their dreams.

About the association “Jedes Lachen zählt e.V.”

“Jedes Lachen zählt e.V.” is a non-profit organization that was founded in May 2019 and is particularly committed to the education of children in the Malindi region of Kenya. The members of the association work free of charge and ensure that 100% of the donations go directly to the projects. This is particularly important to us because we want every donation to make a real difference.

Focus on education: Malindi Bright Future Academy

One of the association's most important initiatives is the Malindi Bright Future Academy, a non-profit school dedicated to the education of children from disadvantaged backgrounds. The association is committed to providing pupils with a first-class education. The majority of the children live in traditional huts with earth floors, no running water and no electricity. It is often difficult for their parents or caregivers to pay the very modest school fees, which is why many children in this region cannot go to school at all. At school, the children receive breakfast and lunch every day. These meals are often the only ones they eat in a day and help them to learn and concentrate better.

Fundraising campaigns are regularly organized to maintain the school, buy the necessary equipment and support the poorest children and their families. These funds ensure that the pupils not only have access to quality education, but can also learn in an environment that promotes their development. These efforts aim to significantly improve the educational opportunities of children in Malindi. 

Kakuyuni School for the Deaf

 Another notable component of the project is the Kakuyuni School for the Deaf. This school offers deaf children an education tailored to their needs and the opportunity to develop in a supportive environment. Through targeted teaching and individual support, these children are also given the chance of a good education.

A practical element of the training here is vegetable growing. The pupils not only learn how to grow different types of vegetables, but also have the opportunity to eat the freshly harvested vegetables themselves. Part of the harvest is sold, which generates additional income for the school to cover its running costs. Through this approach, the pupils acquire valuable practical skills that will be useful to them later in life, in addition to a good education. Growing vegetables not only promotes self-sufficiency, but also teaches important lessons about responsibility, teamwork and entrepreneurial thinking. It also ensures that the children are encouraged in their personal development. 

Charity events and practical support

The association organizes charity events to collect donations and raise awareness of the situation of children in Kenya. These events are not only a way to raise money, but also an opportunity to strengthen commitment to the good cause.

The association is also dedicated to procuring supplies and food for villages, kindergartens and schools. During the Covid-19 pandemic, for example, food packs were organized for the families of schoolchildren to ensure that they were provided for during this difficult time. This type of support shows how important it is to stick together and provide help, especially in times of crisis.

School sponsorships

In addition to the initiatives mentioned above, the association takes on school sponsorships. These sponsorships make it possible to support a child's education over a longer period of time. The sponsorships include not only the financing of school fees, but also the provision of school materials, books and clothing. 

Sustainable projects

Another important component is projects such as well construction, which improves access to clean water for schools and communities. This is of crucial importance, as children's health is directly linked to the availability of clean water. The provision of mattresses for schools and ensuring a power supply via solar panels are also part of the comprehensive efforts to improve the living conditions of children and their families. School facilities are continuously being upgraded to provide pupils with a pleasant learning environment.

The association “Jedes Lachen zählt e.V.” is dependent on the support of people who want to work for a better future for children in Kenya. Sponsorships and donations are always being sought to finance current projects and launch new initiatives. Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a big difference and help to give more children the opportunity of education and a better life.
