Timing belts by the meter

Alphabelt PU timing belts are available either open by the meter or closed to the ring by means of a welded connection. Both variants can be ordered in any length. Timing belts sold by the meter with tension cords made of steel or Kevlar serve as basic belts for customized products and are used for refinement specifically according to the application task. Welded timing belts have roughly half the tensile force of a belt that has been fabricated closed, since the tension cords are discontinuous at the point of welding and the belt is held together at this point only by the welded belt body.

Belt structure

  • Belt body made of high-quality extruded thermoplastic polyurethane with high abrasion resistance. Special PU for particular applications available on request.
  • Standard tension cords made of steel, optionally also stainless steel or aramid fibers with bifilar and spiral arrangement.
  • Optional coating on the tooth side (PAZ), on the back of the belt (PAR) or on tooth and back side to reduce friction and running noise.

Special tension cords

Stainless steel

PU timing belts with tension cords made of stainless steel are particularly suitable for operation in damp and corrosive environments or under water due to their non-rusting properties.

Aramid

Aramid fibers are very flexible, therefore contributing to the very good pliability of the belt and cushioning shocks. The belts weigh less than those with steel cords. However, they are more susceptible to stretching under load.

Special materials

For an extension of the temperature range, timing belts made of special PUR are available which are suitable for operation from - 30 °C to + 110 °C. There are also versions available that conform to FDA standards for the food industry.
